This is a recreation of the first automaton that I designed back in 2005. Made from hardwoods, lime, beech, oak, pine and birch plywood. The crank handle is turned walnut and rotates on a brass axle. All bearings are brass with delrin bushings. The head is also more refined. All parts are finished in either gloss or matt lacquer. I sell plans for a version of this that can be made with simple tools (available in my Etsy shop). A simple but effective movement that somehow feels fitting to our times. Height is 25cms, 10 inches.
